LEXINGTON FLYING PIGS ANNOUNCE RETURN OF CHAMPIONSHIP COACHING STAFF FOR 2027 SEASON

Head Coach Jason Beck and Assistant Coach Nick Musgrave return for a fourth summer following three consecutive division championships and a winning percentage above 75%.

LEXINGTON, N.C. — November 2, 2026 — The Lexington Flying Pigs are excited to announce the return of Head Coach Jason Beck and Assistant Coach Nick Musgrave for the upcoming 2027 summer collegiate baseball season. Both coaches will enter their fourth summer with the organization, bringing back a winning tradition that has established the Flying Pigs as one of the most consistently successful teams in the league.

Under the leadership of Beck and Musgrave, the Flying Pigs have captured three consecutive division championships, winning the division title in each of their first three seasons together. Even more impressive, the team has maintained a winning percentage exceeding 75% during their tenure.

While the on-field accomplishments speak for themselves, the organization's success extends well beyond wins and losses. Beck and Musgrave have helped establish a culture centered around player development, accountability, hard work, and creating an enjoyable summer baseball experience for collegiate athletes.

Flying Pigs Owner Danny Kirkman expressed his excitement about keeping the successful coaching duo together for another season.

"When you look at what Jason and Nick have accomplished over the past three summers, it's pretty remarkable," said Kirkman. "Three summers, three division championships, and winning over 75% of our games is something we're extremely proud of. But what makes these two special goes well beyond their record. They genuinely care about our players, their development, and making sure these young men have a great experience in Lexington. We want to win, absolutely, but we also want our players to enjoy coming to the ballpark every day. Jason and Nick understand that balance, and I couldn't be happier to have them back for another summer."

Joining Beck and Musgrave on the coaching staff will be AJ Lewis, who was previously announced as the Flying Pigs' Pitching Coach for the 2027 season. Lewis will work alongside the returning coaching staff to help develop the team's pitching talent and continue building upon the organization's winning tradition.

Kirkman added that continuity within the coaching staff is an important part of the organization's continued growth.

"Consistency matters, especially in summer collegiate baseball, where you're bringing together players from different colleges and backgrounds every year," Kirkman continued. "Jason and Nick have created an environment where players want to come, compete, improve, and have fun. Adding AJ Lewis to that mix only makes us stronger. We're excited about this staff and what we can accomplish together in 2027."

As preparations continue for the upcoming season, the Flying Pigs remain committed to providing a first-class summer baseball experience for their players, host families, sponsors, and the Lexington community.

With a proven coaching staff returning and another very talented roster taking shape, expectations remain high as the Flying Pigs pursue a fourth consecutive division championship and the ultimate goal of an ONSL Title.
