Lexington Flying Pigs CEO Danny Kirkman Named 2025 ONSL Executive of the Year

LEXINGTON, NC — The Lexington Flying Pigs are proud to announce that Danny Kirkman, CEO of Flying Pigs Sports LLC and owner of the Lexington Flying Pigs collegiate wooden bat summer league team in the Old North State League, has been named the 2025 ONSL Executive of the Year.

This recognition celebrates Danny’s outstanding leadership in building a strong, competitive ballclub — and an even stronger community presence.

Building a Championship Culture On and Off the Field

Under Danny’s leadership, the Flying Pigs have become a thriving summer baseball tradition in Lexington. But his impact goes far beyond the diamond.

“Fly Into Reading: A Home Run Challenge” 

In partnership with Home Star Realty, Danny spearheaded this 8-week baseball-themed literacy initiative, engaging all students. Students track their reading time, earn rewards at each “base,” and compete for a VIP experience at a Lexington Flying Pigs game. The program includes classroom visits, mascot appearances, and school-wide celebrations — all designed to build literacy through fun and encouragement.

Deep Commitment to Community Organizations

Danny’s volunteerism and outreach efforts include work with:

• Trellis Supportive Care – supporting individuals and families in hospice care.
• Lexington Kiwanis Club – serving youth-focused and community programs.
• Senior Services of Davidson County – engaging with programs that serve older adults.
• Family Services of Davidson County – supporting domestic violence and family outreach initiatives.
• Special Olympics – volunteering with athletes and events in the local area.

And many more – Danny regularly participates in a wide variety of service efforts, always eager to lend time, energy, and leadership where it's needed most.
